SkitterToys Safe Play Tips

March 2008

When is it a good time to start teaching children about being "Good Citizens"?  This is a big pet peeve of mine.  I am constantly teaching my children about sharing, how to wait in lines and most importantly indoor voice levels.  A recent article on MSN Lifestyle discusses raising a good citizen.  The main point is that the teaching begins at home.  Children have big ears and role model everything they see and hear.

Respecting all members in the home, walking the talk is important.  Also to note, teaching work ethic.  I try to include my two year old in the chores that I do from loading the dishwasher, taking out the trash to doing laundry.  He gets a sense of pride and accomplishment from this little task.  Here is the link to the article: http://lifestyle.msn.com/homesweethome/default.aspx?page=family&cp-documentid=6438130&GT1=25006

The next article that I came across discusses High Lead Levels in Easter Toys.  A study was conducted that examined a number of products and discovered the lead levels.  We at SkitterToys always talk about safety and have addressed this with our toy manufacturer and have been assured that there is no lead in our products.  We make the promise to continue with the high level of quality assurance that are products meet all safety requirements because bottom line, we are parents first and our children use the products that we sell.  Here is the link to the article: http://money.aol.com/news/articles/_a/high-lead-levels-found-in-easter-toys/20080317183009990001
