FAQ
What is the Difference between the Plasma Car and Skitter Car?
This
is one of the most asked Questions! Both the Plasma Car and the
Skitter Car operate the same by moving the steering wheel (see here). The Skitter Car and the Plasma Car both offer the same color options.
What is the difference between the "Standard Wheels" and the "Upgraded Wheels" for the Skitter Car & Plasma Car?
The difference as described by parents is that from a Volkswagen to a Mercedes. Every Skitter or Plasma Car comes standard with Black hard plastic wheels. The wheels are loud, slide on some surfaces and mark indoor floors. The upgraded wheels are made of polyurethane rubber and are special cut with a flat surface for better traction. The upgraded wheels provide a smooth, comfortable ride allowing for better performance and over all enjoyment for the child.
***The upgraded wheels will not mark floors.
Where can I buy the Skitter? SkitterToys retails the Skitter Car online and at selected retail locations.
What type of surfaces can I ride the Skitter?
The Skitter
is best used on level, smooth, hard surfaces (concrete, hardwood
floors, tile). We have developed custom manufactured polyurethane
wheels that increase the ride comfort, style and ease of maneuvering
your Skitter. For better performance on all surfaces please click on
New Skitter Wheels.
Is the Skitter for indoor or outdoor use?
Both! My son rides the Skitter toy during rainy times indoors but most of the time likes to play with his Skitter ride on toy outside. The standard are polyurethane and will not leave marks.
How do I purchase a Skitter Car or Plasma Car Wheels
Click on the Top Right Hand navigation button that says "Online Store" or by going to the individual Skitter Car pages and click on the Skitter Car pictures or this button.
The Skitter Car is the most unique ride on toy available. The child sits on the seat and places their feet on the Skitter foot pads. To make the ride on toy move, the child moves the steering wheel back and forth thus creating centrifugal force with the front wheels. This motion will propel the Skitter forward or backwards depending on the direction the wheels are steered. Kids will master the Skitter toy in minutes.
What age is the Skitter toy best for?
We recommend to start at age 2 and up. I have seen a physically advanced 18 month old on the Skitter and on the other end of the spectrum, some Grandparents on the Skitter.
What is the weight limit?
The Skitter ride on toy manufacturer recommended safe weight limit is 150 lbs. The Skitter toy is made of high quality PP (Polypropylene) and ABS Recycled Plastic making it safe, durable and light. The steering post is made of steel to provide long wear. The wheels and steering system utilize high quality bearings.
What is the size of the Skitter?
Weight - 8.36 lbs., Length - 31" in., Height-16.5"in., Width - 13" in.
Does the Skitter Ride on Toy come in different sizes?
This is another of the most asked questions. No, it does not at this time. The size will fit most kids and adults.
"She plays with the Skitter everyday inside and outside, non-stop..."
"P.S., My son's Skitter is his favorite toy and by far the best one that he has ever owned. He loves..."
"It has improved my sons coordination and core strength..."
